Well Known Historical Leader



1.  I was born in late 69 BC to Ptolomey XII


2.  After my fathers death when I was 18, I was married to my brother in accordance with local custom and we ruled Egypt jointly.



3.  I did not want to rule Egypt with my brother and I fell from power and fled with my sister, leaving my brother as sole Pharoh of Egypt in 48 BC



4.  My brother, Ptolomey XIII of Egypt, angered Julius Caesar by killing his son-in-law Pompey and Caesar took control of Egypt


5.  I decided to get Caesar's help in securing my throne away from my brother and was smuggled into his palace by rolling up inside a carpet

6.  9 months later I gave birth to Ptolemy Caesar whom we nicknamed Caesarian, which means "little Caesar".  Shortly after this Caesar defeated my brother at the Battle of the Nile and he drowned.



7.  Caesar, our son, my youngest brother and I traveled to Rome in 46 BC where I stayed in one of Caesars country houses.  


8.  After Caesar was assassinated by his bodyguards in 44 BC I returned to Egypt and my younger brother, Ptolomey XIV died.  I appointed my son Caesarian as co-regent


9.  In 41 BC I met Marc Anthony and had twins


10.  Rome was scandalised by my relationship with Marc Antony and the threat that my son, Cesarian who was also Caesar's son would want to rule Rome.  As a result Caesar's other heir, Octavain, attacked Marc Antony and myself and we were defeated.  Rather than be paraded through the streets of Rome as spoils of war I committed suicide.
